History of Cross Cheer:
Cross Cheer was founded in 2005, by Brittany Cavender, with the mission of introducing young girls to the sport of cheerleading in a Christ-centered atmosphere. A former SMU Cheerleader, NCA Instructor, Cheer Athletics athlete and Rockwall High School captain, Brittany distinctly remembers those coaches throughout her cheering career who impacted her life for Christ. She was blessed to have coaches who provided sweet encouragement, built confidence and used Bible verses to motivate and inspire.
In her senior year at Southern Methodist University, while taking an entrepreneurship class, Brittany realized her dream was to combine her love for children, cheerleading and God into a Christian cheerleading company. Soon after developing a business plan and consulting many friends and talented professionals, her dream became a reality. In the summer of 2005, Cross Cheer was established as an LLC and hosted its first Christian cheerleading camp with Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas on September 17.
Cross Cheer has been blessed to partner with over 30 churches in Dallas and the North Texas area for 20 years! Over the years, we have hosted over 10,300 campers and spread the love of cheerleading and Jesus!

Owner & Camp Director
Brittany Cavender
Brittany has been in the cheerleading industry for over 20 years with her most notable experiences being an SMU Mustangs cheerleader, NCA Instructor, TCA coach and Cheer Athletics nationally ranked athlete. Brittany has owned and operated Cross Cheer for over 15 years and enjoys the opportunity to reach little hearts for Christ in the Dallas area through cheerleading. In addition to Cross Cheer, Brittany enjoys being a wife (husband Kyle), mom to Bo, Kinsley & JP and attending Grace Community Church in Lindale, TX.
Camp Manager & Head Coach
Lauren Williams
Lauren is a current 8th grade Language Arts teacher in Frisco ISD. She is a former Varsity cheerleader and was involved in the Tumbling and Stunt team at Asbury University. She completed 13 years of middle school cheer coaching. Lauren now attends church at Chase Oaks in Plano. She enjoys spending time with her husband (Chris), family and friends, and is very excited to continue her Cross Cheer journey spreading the love of Jesus to young girls!
Head Coach
Avery Durham
Avery currently attends the University of Oklahoma where she is working towards her Bachelor's in Science Education. She has cheered for a total of 12 years. Avery cheered competitively at Pro Spirit and at Lovejoy High School. At the University of Oklahoma, she attends Wildwood Community Church. Avery loves being involved in Cross Cheer. She has a heart for Jesus and children, and she cannot wait to share her passion with the girls through Cross Cheer!
Head Coach
Gable Delp
Gable attends Texas Christian University where she studies Psychology and Criminal Justice. She began coaching at Legacy Cheer, a Christian All-Star cheer program, when she was 16 and is beyond excited to return to Cross Cheer for another summer! Additionally, Gable cheered at Trinity Christian Academy and served as Co-Captain her senior year. She aspires to glorify God in everything she does, so she cannot wait to share her passion for both the Lord and cheerleading through Cross Cheer!
Head Coach
Kaitlynn Gradt
Kaitlynn attends Dallas Baptist University where she cheers on the DBU cheer team. She is a part of the Health Science program and sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa. Kaitlynn has been cheering over the past 15 years competitively and on the sidelines. In addition to coaching at Cross Cheer, she also is a head coach at Legacy Cheer. She loves nothing more than getting to serve and glorify God with the talents He gave her!

Abigail Smith
Abigail is so excited to be back with Cross Cheer this summer as a Head Coach! She is currently a senior Sociology major at Baylor University and plans to attend Graduate school to become a counselor. With over 10 years of cheer experience and a strong foundation in faith, she loves how Cross Cheer combines cheerleading with the love of Jesus. Abigail can't wait to meet your sweet kiddos and make this the best summer together!

Caroline Woodward
​Caroline recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master’s degree in Accounting. She did competitive cheerleading for over 10 years and cheered at Trinity Christian Academy, where she served as captain her senior year. Over the years, Caroline has loved working with Cross Cheer and is so grateful for the opportunity to continue pouring into athletes each summer. She is passionate about sharing her love for cheerleading, encouraging others, and creating a positive and uplifting environment for every camper she gets to work with.
Operations Manager and Head Coach
Laurel Sparks
​Laurel is a student at Oklahoma State University, where she is double majoring in Strategic Communications and Political Science. She loves high-energy environments, meeting new people, and being part of a strong team. Laurel has spent multiple summers as a camp counselor at Sky Ranch, where she found her passion for mentoring, encouraging others, and creating a fun, supportive environment. This will be her fourth summer working with Cross Cheer, where she has loved being part of a team that builds confidence, energy, and community for athletes each year. On campus, Laurel works in Admissions Communications, helping connect with prospective students, and is involved in a research lab where she studies court opinions and writes new research. She is also a member of Kappa Delta, where she has been involved in creative leadership and enjoys contributing to events and performances. Laurel is so excited to be a head coach for Cross Cheer this summer! She can’t wait to build relationships, have fun, and help each athlete grow in confidence both on and off the mat.

Mishka Arredondo
Mishka attends Baylor University, where she studies Child and Family Studies and Spanish. After graduation, she plans to pursue nursing school. She currently serves as chaplain for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, where she is passionate about encouraging others in their faith. Mishka cheered competitively and on the sidelines for seven years at Prestonwood Christian Academy, serving as both captain and shaplain during her junior and senior years. She has a heart for serving others and leading people closer to Jesus, and she is excited to continue sharing her love for cheerleading and the Lord through Cross Cheer. Mishka can't wait to have fun, help athletes grow in their cheer skills, and serve your children this summer!
